KAMAKHYA : DISCOVER THE SUPREME POWER

Nilachal hills : The home to divine.

First of all a very Happy Bihu to all my readers. I'm sorry guys I'm not able to write a separate blog on Bihu because of my exams. Please i beg your pardon for this. I'm really sorry readers. But today's blog is very close to my heart this is one of the most most significant religious place for Hindus in the entire North East India
. People from around the world visit here. I always wanted to write about Nilachal hills in a separate blog. Since today i visited the place so here I'm with a new blog. Writing about this place as it is close to my heart as me being Hindu by birth.

  • The journey.

Today I came from my place as it is quite far from Nilachal hills and being a bit far I took a cab and went there. There were my parents, brother and relatives waiting for me. And I would like to tell that I was not there to go there to the temple of Maa Kamakhya but to the temple of Bagla Maa. This is a tradition made by my family that we go to that temple every year after Rongali Bihu. So as per that tradition we went there. We offered puja there and prayed. Because we had vote in Guwahati today the people there are very less.

  • Maa Bagla temple

This temple is few hundred meters from Kamakhya and is according to my observation it is the biggest after the main Maa Kamakhya temple. This temple has very nice views from it. Many people dont even know this temple exist because most of the people visit Kamakhya devalaya and exhausted by the visit most people return from there. I would like to tell that you should this visit this temple not as a very religious person but the ancient architecture there is quite intriguing. Visit this temple if you visit Kamakhya Devalaya next time.

  • Kamakhya Devalaya.

This is the temple that makes Nilachal Hills so popular. People often call the hill as Kamakhya pahar(hill) . This is one of the ancient temples here in the state of Assam.
It was constructed at around 8-9th century AD. It has Maa Kamakhya as the primary deity in the and the temple wall is curved with several deities like Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, Goddess Saraswati and various other Gods and Goddesses.
The craftsmanship of the place always make me feel mesmerized.
How our ansestors were so advanced in their craft. This place is said to have a part of Goddess Parvati have fallen here. It is believed that Goddess Parvati's genitalia fell there. That is the reason during the devine Amabachi Mela the temple door is kept close as it is believed that it the time of Goddess Parvati's mesnturation. This part fell here after it was dismembered by Lord Vishnu to save the world from Catstrophy of the universe by the anger of Lord Shiva.

  • View from Nilachal Hill.

This hill is one of the most visited hills in entire Guwahati city. And the view from here is breath taking. One cannot stay without getting awed by the sheer beauty of the views from the hill.
