Top 5 Best places to visit in Goa

Goa was a Portuguese Colony. It was under Portuguese for 1510- 1961CE . Far longer than British rule in India. In 18th of December 1961 Goa was liberated. After 450 Years of Portuguese rule it is so deeply embedded in their lifestyle. The culture, Architecture, Cuisine everything is influenced by the Portuguese . Goa is very Popular among foreign as well as Indian prople vacation spot. Goa is the land of party and fun, white sand blue water its beautiful. It can be called a Tropical paradise. Basilica of Bom Jesus 

This is one of the oldest church in Goa and this place  also one of the oldest in entire South East Asia. Th foundation was laid by 24 November 1594 and the construction took 11years to complete on 15th of May 1605 . It is an UNESCO world haritage site. There are several more church near by Basilica of Bom Jesus

Ruins of the Church of St Augustine :

This is the biggest Church complex in the whole of Goa. This ones majestic church due to its faulty construction as said but no one knows the true reason. The construction started in 1597 and completed in 1602 . It originally had four towers now only one is barely standing. It was declared UNESCO World heritage in 1986.

Aguada Fort:

This fort was a Portuguese Fort built in 1612. It faces the Arabian sea from the coast of Goa and the view is just mesmerizing. The fort has a light house. Only the upper portion is accessible by the general public. The rest of the places are blocked from reaching.

Reis Magos Fort

Reis Magos Fort, Goa is the oldest fort in the entire city of Goa. It was constructed in 1493 and was used as a defence fort later it was converted to a jail. The fort is quite big but had only one well as a source of drinking water.

Our Lady of Immaculate Conception 

This ancient Church lookes quite new. The zig zag stairs are its key features. The chapal was first built in 1541 and later rebuilt in 1619 the structure that we are able to see now. The dazzling white colour of the chapel makes it a spectacle to watch.

You might be curious that Goa is famous for its beach and i have not put even a single one of it here. But the thing is that everyone knows that Goa is famous for beach so it wont be new knowledge for them. Goa is far more than just Beach and party. The heritage of  Goa is far byond its beach and party.
